We had transfers this week! Elder Costa moved into the area with me and it's been a blast working with him.  The work is moving really well in the Agua Branca ward and we are excited. This past week in particular we talked with a lot of people who are in really tough life situations. But what stood out about these people is that despite their situations they were always grateful. We would ask what they want to pray for and they would say "just give thanks." I've also had the experience of teaching a few people on my own this week. This is a neat experience because God helps me have just enough Portuguese to teach what I need to in that moment. One of these exchanges was at church yesterday. We had two people attend church for the first time, so my companion and I split up to make sure we could talk with both of them. So I had the chance to talk with Alessandro. I've been in the Agua Branca ward for just two weeks, but it feels like it's been three months already. A lot has happened. The highlight of which was Anthonye's baptism! Teaching Anthonye and his parents is a special experience because they are truly learning about the gospel as a family. Anthonye's mother, Camila, started meeting with missionaries some time ago and introduced the missionaries to her friend. Her friend recognized the spirit of God in the first discussion with missionaries and quickly began preparing for baptism. Now she is helping Camila and her family prepare for baptism! Camila also introduced us to two other family members and we were able to give them a Book of Mormon at Anthonye's baptism! The gospel of Jesus Christ blesses families and brings more peace and love into the home. This is clear to see with Camila and her family as they slowly grow in the gospel.
